{"id":7,"date":"2020-11-20T06:09:16","date_gmt":"2020-11-20T06:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/health.sjp.ac.lk\/rchs\/?page_id=7"},"modified":"2026-03-07T13:12:36","modified_gmt":"2026-03-07T13:12:36","slug":"abstract-submission-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/health.sjp.ac.lk\/rchs\/abstract-submission-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Abstract submission guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>GUIDELINES TO AUTHORS<\/p>\n<h4><strong>GUIDELINES TO AUTHORS ON SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Abstracts for the Research Conference in Health Sciences 2026 should conform to the following requirements.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>ABSTRACT FORMAT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Title of the Abstract: Font &#8211; Times New Roman, 14pt, Bold, Sentence case,\u00a0 Centered.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The title of the abstract should be brief but adequately descriptive. The scientific committee reserves the right to modify the title where necessary.<\/li>\n<li>If scientific names are included, they should be written in italics (lower case), and common or vernacular names should be included within parenthesis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Names of the Authors (s): Font &#8211; Times New Roman, 11pt, Regular, Justified<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Authors should be listed using the entire surname followed by initial(s). Omit titles, degrees, and academic appointments and do not separate initials with punctuation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0e.g. Rathnayake ABC<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk (*) at the end of the name.<\/li>\n<li>The presenting author\u2019s name should be underlined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Author (s) affiliation: Font -Times New Roman,11pt, Italics, Centered<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the authors are from several institutes\/departments, they should be numbered using a superscript at the end of the name of each author and the numbers should be corresponded to the institutional address of the respective authors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Corresponding Author: Font- Times New Roman, 10 pt, Italics, Centered<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Corresponding author\u2019s email address should be specified, prefixed by an asterisk (*).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(e.g., corresponding author (email: Rathnayake<a href=\"mailto:ABC@sample.com\">ABC@sample.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract Layout: Font &#8211; Times New Roman, 12pt, Single space<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Abstract should be of one page. A structured abstract with distinct, labeled sections <span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">(e.g. Background, Methods, Results, Discussion) should be prepared. The body of the abstract should be organized as outlined below:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Background<\/strong>: A brief description of the study.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives<\/strong>: A statement of the purpose of the study.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Methods<\/strong>: A brief description of the study design.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Results<\/strong>: A summary of the results presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusion. Data must be presented in the abstract. Statements such as \u201cthe results will be presented\u201d or \u201cother data will be presented to support&#8230;.\u201d will result in automatic rejection of the abstract.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Conclusions<\/strong>: A statement of the conclusions based on the data presented.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Acknowledgements<\/strong>: only the research grants can be acknowledged.<\/li>\n<li>Scientific names should be italicized and International code of Nomenclatures should be followed.<\/li>\n<li>SI units should be used.<\/li>\n<li>Use only standard abbreviations.<\/li>\n<li>Do not include graphs, tables, figures, diagrams or references.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The number of words is\u00a0<strong>limited strictly to 300\u00a0<\/strong>excluding the title, authors, affiliations and acknowledgement. Each word or number is counted as one word whether it is one character or 10 characters long. Units will count as part of the number with which they are attached.<\/li>\n<li>The author\/s should take the responsibility for the research work and the contents reported in the abstract.<\/li>\n<li>The Scientific committee reserves the right to make alterations and to edit text to improve presentation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Abstracts not conforming to the above instructions will be rejected. <\/strong>Accepted abstracts will be published in the abstracts proceeding.<\/li>\n<li>Abstracts research related to human or animal should include an approval obtained from a recognized ethical review committee (A certified copy of the ethics approval should be attached).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Abstract submission &amp; Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong><em>Please submit the duly completed declaration form along with your abstract.
