The book was edited by <em>Dr. L.A.W. Sirisena<\/em>, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6407\" src=\"http:\/\/health.sjp.ac.lk\/nursing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/vulvo-vaginal-discharge.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"659\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/health.sjp.ac.lk\/nursing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/vulvo-vaginal-discharge.jpg 659w, https:\/\/health.sjp.ac.lk\/nursing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/vulvo-vaginal-discharge-300x173.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 659px) 100vw, 659px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The book was a part of the educational intervention carried out for the PhD degree of Dr. Prasanthi Ilankoon and was conducted under the university research grant (ASP\/\/06\/ RE\/MED\/2016\/53) received by Prof. Sampatha Goonewardena. The book covers important areas on abnormal vaginal discharge to enhance the knowledge and skills of the Public Health Midwives (PHMs), to counsel women with an abnormal vaginal discharge, decide on appropriate action and health education. There is a scarcity of books on important gynaecological symptoms and diseases written for PHMs especially in Sinhala or Tamil languages. Hence, the book will be useful for the PHMs, Primary Health Care Workers, Nursing Officers and even the general public.
