National Contributions of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences
The academics of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences contribute immensely to the National development of our country. The faculty is rich in experts of a wide range of healthcare disciplines including nursing, pharmacy, and medical laboratory sciences. The pool of experts in FAHS constitute the large majority of the few experts present in Sri Lanka in the respective fields of science. They contribute enormously in, policy development in various aspects of healthcare which are nationally important, disseminating required professional knowledge and skills among the Sri Lankan community, regulating medicines in Sri Lanka, improving medication safety, rejuvenating of traditional and natural medicine unique to Sri Lanka, upgrading the education of healthcare professionals in respective disciplines, and in maintaining professional standards through professional bodies/organizations.
