Dr. MKDL Meegoda who is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department of Nursing and Midwifery, of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, was invited to share her expertise as a resource person in the webinar on “Nursing considerations in looking after COVID positive patients who are allowed to stay at home”, conducted by the Career Guidance and Skills Development Committee of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA-SL) on 28th September 2021. This webinar was for the general public and home caregivers. A national and international participation of approximately 200 was observed on this day where Dr. Meegoda educated the public on psychological aspect of care.
Further, on 27th October 2021 she contributed as a panel member at an online discussion conducted by the Director of Nursing Public Health, Ministry of Health on “Home-based care and post care for COVID-19 patients”. This was done for the Public Health Nursing officers and Public Health Midwives in Sri Lanka.
