The inauguration ceremony of the Orientation program of the 2019/2020 Batch of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS), University of Sri Jayewardenepura was held on 9th June 2021 online from 9.00 a.m. onwards. It was a memorable day for the faculty and the students as this is the first batch of students to get registered with the FAHS.
Snr Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, Vice Chancellor, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Snr Prof. Sharaine Fernando, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Department Heads of the Dept. of Basic Sciences, Dept. of Nursing and Midwifery, Dept. of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dept. of Medical Laboratory Sciences addressed the new batch of students and welcomed them to the FAHS, USJ.
The orientation programme is a two week programme designed to create awareness of academic procedures at FAHS. New students will also be introduced to university support services such as the library, career guidance, student counseling, sports, medical and student services.
