FAHS supports AIESEC-USJ for ‘Healthy Nation’

AIESEC is a global platform for young people and is a non-political, independent, and not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. The AIESEC of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized ‘Healthy Nation’ aligned with sustainable goal 3 of UNESCO, “Health and Wellbeing’, which was a series of programs directed at a youth audience. Among the series of programs, there were three school sessions of which the first school session was resourced by academics of FAHS, USJ.  Dr. Nithushi Samaranayake and Dr. Ranga Dissanayake, both senior lecturers of the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences were invited by AIESEC to resource this school session conducted virtually on ‘Medication safety’ on 25th July 2021 (http://bit.ly/JChronicles-2021Vol3, page 6-7). The audience included school children from Grade 8 to 13 from invited schools. Dr. Ranga Dissanayake addressed the young public on how medicines are developed and Dr. Nithushi Samaranayake on safe practices of using medicines at home.
