On behalf of the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week 2023 (WAAW 2023), an inter faculty drama competition was organized by the Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists where 24 faculties of 10 universities in Sri Lanka competed, representing Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Medicine, and Veterinary Science disciplines. A 10-minute drama video was prepared by each participant group on the theme ‘Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together with One-Health Concept’. Undergraduates of B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Sciences, FAHS, USJ emerged winners (1st Place) for their drama titled ‘Overdose’ (https://youtu.be/RwIbIGDEUX4?si=i9KJ1ubeYsV8C5sH), and undergraduates of Bachelor of Pharmacy, FAHS, USJ emerged second runners up (3rd Place) for their drama titled, ‘Savoma Ek Wemu, Prathijeewaka Prathirodhathawa Awama Karamu’ (https://youtu.be/RbrV5OTZtpE?si=IM4medv0XPsV-jFP) at this event. These creative messages by undergraduates of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka is an ideal example of how healthcare professionals can be ambassadors for combating antimicrobial resistance.
