The Inaugural Faculty Board Meeting of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences was held on the 7th of June 2019 at the Board Room of the Health Sciences Resource Centre (HSRC) building. It was a memorable occasion for the members of the new Faculty as it officially marked the independent functioning of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor of the University, Senior Prof. Surangi Yasawardene, Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences, and Mr. K.G Britto, Registrar, University of Sri Jayewardenepura graced the occasion. The Vice chancellor and the Dean of the Faculty of Medical sciences pledged their cooperation and blessings for a successful future. Prof. Sharaine Fernando, Dean (Acting) chaired the inaugural meeting and encouraged academic and non-academic staff members present at the occasion to contribute in developing the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences to the best of standards. The memorable occasion was marked in print with a group photograph followed by traditional refreshments.
