The administrative and finance sections including Dean’s office and the Department of Basic Sciences is housed in the Saagra building. It is a three-storied building where there are lecture halls, laboratories and staff rooms for the Department of Basic Sciences. In addition, the Examination unit of FAHS will be housed in this building.
Increasing the student intakes to the currently conducted courses (B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Sciences and B. Pharmacy) and introducing new degree programmes (B.Sc.Optometry) is planned. Further expansion in terms of space, resources and logistics of providing training opportunities for students in keeping with the global trends in the allied health sciences disciplines is the greatest challenge. However, with a team of committed academics and the support of the other faculties and the guidance from the leadership of the University, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences will grow to achieve its goals.
